What and who is A Dating Dad?
My real name is Glen Ocsko, but I started writing as aDatingDad when I unexpectedly found myself single at 36 after my 18 year marriage came to a rather abrupt end. I needed to learn how to date having not done so since being a teenager, and needed to manage my need to both heal from heartbreak and find love again with the need to continue bringing up my four children as a single parent.
This blog began as a way of me tracking things and working them out, and has since grown into one of the most widely read and respected independent dating blogs in the UK. It has also lead to a highly engaged social following online (6900+ Twitter followers as of June 2021) and multiple brand collaborations across the dating and relationship sector.
Building on coaching experience dating back to 1995, I am regarded as a trusted voice for those who are looking for love who need a little help, guidance or support along the way.
Media
I have featured on a range of TV shows, from Good Morning Britain, BBC Breakfast and This Morning through to First Dates and Five Guys A Week. I have also produced collaborative content with dating brands, including My Friend Charlie, Wingman and Love Lessons.
Some example of brands I’ve worked with include:
- Vice (Say Hello to Single Dad Dating Bloggers)
- Gluing Cheese (Social Stigmas of being a single dad)
- My Friend Charlie (Dating Decoded)
- Love Lessons (Winter Staycation coaching)
- Wingman (Dating rules that need to die)
- Multiple podcasts, including “JE Matchmaking”, “Team Super Dad”, “Love, Life, Disability”, and many more
FAQs
Will you work for free?
Not usually, though not never. To create bespoke, quality content takes a not-insignificant amount of time and work, so payment in one form or another would need to be negotiated in most situations. I am, of course, happy to discuss a range of payment options depending on the specific opportunity.
Will you attend/speak at my event?
I am based in the South East of the UK, but would usually be happy to attend events wherever it is practically possible to do so and suitable terms can be agreed.
What can you do for me?
I am happy to consider a wide range of potential collaborations, including (though not limited to):
- Life/dating/relationship coaching
- Tv/radio/podcast appearances
- Product/experience/venue reviews
- Speaking opportunities
- Giveaways
- Advertising
- Brand ambassador
- Brand/product affiliation
- Event collaboration
- Sponsored posts
- Social media promotion
- Freelance writing
Please be aware that I will always provide my honest opinions on any experiences, products or other reviews.
