Regular readers of this blog (i.e. both of you) will have noticed that I’ve not posted for almost two weeks. Honestly, I don’t know how you have filled your days without my half-formed thoughts to fill your minds.
I wish I could say it was for one of two reasons; either that I had been deep undercover doing cool secret agent work for an unrevealed government organisation, or that instead I had found the love of my life and run off to elope.
Alas, neither is true. In fact, there have been two reasons for my lack of writing action. The first will be the subject of a later blog post; I had a work trip to Washington DC with an unplanned stopover in Iceland, and simply didn’t have the time to write anything. I did manage to fit in a little swiping though, hence the promise of a story in the near future.
The second is more practical – it’s the first weeks of the summer holidays for me, so I’m contending with juggling my kids as well as my work. Childcare is settling into an equal split between me and my ex, but it’s going to be a challenging time over the wet months that are the holidays.
In fact, I’ll be going on tour with them around the country on an unplanned road trip for a fortnight, so all thoughts of dating will be put on hold during that time. Well, perhaps not thoughts, but the ability to date when I’m halfway across the country and with four kids in tow might be somewhat limited!
That being said, I won’t stop thinking of things to say, and there are one or two big things happening at the moment that deserve to be shared, so the odd post or two may indeed find its way here.
I’d say watch this space, but I’m sure you’ve got better things to be watching. 😉
